As a Elko County Reading Council member, you are eligible for a number of scholarships. Click on the name below to download the application.
Susan Hendricks Literacy Enrichment Scholarship The Second Chance Enrichment Scholarship was changed to the Susan Hendricks Literacy Enrichment Scholarship at the 2008 Silver State Leadership Meeting to honor Susan for her many contributions to the Silver State Reading Council. Eligible applicants must be working towards a degree or endorsement in literacy, must be a licensed teacher, and must be a dues paying member of a local reading council. Applications are accepted twice a year with deadlines of February 15th and April 30th.
The Lillian Panchhi Scholarship was established in 1994 to honor Lillian for her years of dedicated service to the Silver State Reading Association. The scholarship is open to any SSRA member and applicants may receive up to $250. Applications are accepted twice a year with deadlines of September 20th and April 15th. Scholarship funds must be used for SSRA members to attend conferences, meetings, or seminars.
SSRA Mini-Grants were renamed to honor Jean A. Serum, retired as an administrator from SSRA allocates $2,000 annual to be used for mini-grants to local IRA councils. Each local IRA council may not apply for more than $500 annually. Completed application forms must be postmarked no later than June 15th of each year. |
